About Robert Reeves
Robert L. Reeves was born in 1970 to a desperate runaway who sold him to gypsies who in turn traded him for a bag of seed corn, some magic beans, and a carton of Kools to a lovely couple from Waterloo, Iowa who raised him as their own. He thus began his life in much the same way he was destined to live it: going several directions at once.
Reeves received a BA in Art with honors from the University of Northern Iowa in 1994 while pursuing interests in film, theater, and music. He has been creating and exhibiting for over 20 years; public art, studio work, and commissions for private individuals as well as small and large businesses.
Drawing from his surroundings and using architectural and figurative themes as a backdrop he employs his understanding color and perspective to render everyday locations and objects from his unique point of view; Seeking to draw the viewer into a setting and illicit a personal re-examination of the familiar.
For the last 11 years Robert has worked and lived in Des Moines, Iowa.
